This article provides an example to discuss the standardization of automatic control for VAV air conditioning systems, which breaks the traditional regulations of only involving self-control contractors and taking full responsibility, and allows the entire HVAC industry to participate and take on the main responsibility. The changes of participants and responsibility can be regarded as a revolutionary change for the automatic control engineering field of air conditioning systems. Meanwhile, this transformation is also a technological revolution. It fully utilizes the computer functions of building automation systems and combines human experience and technology to break away from the traditional operation mode that relies on the technology and experience of management personnel, and develops the automatic control of VAV air conditioning systems from the simple logic control to the optimized control including multi-level automatic alarm and automatic fault detection, in order to maximize the energy efficiency and performance of the air conditioning system, enhance the control stability, and implement the online fault detection and diagnosis, so as to achieve the goals of cutting engineering time, reducing programming and debugging workload, lowering energy consumption, and shortening offline fault detection and diagnosis downtime.
